Aerial landing on Oahu North Shore

This 38-second video was taken with a GoPro Hero camera, mounted near the left wing of a rented Breezy aircraft. As we bank and turn across the ocean shores, watch the shadow of our unique aircraft follow and meet us as we touch ground ...landing at the Dillingham Airfield -- just a few miles west of Waialua, Oahu Hawaii. (I was shooting with 3 cameras: this GoPro mounted near the left wing, a second GoPro mounted just above the front landing wheel, and my hand-held Canon 7D.) This video was shot in 1280 x 720 HD @ 60 fps (the GoPro can also shoot in 1920 x 1080 HD @ 30 fps).

Yellow Daffodils

These flowers were looking straight into the early morning sun, which intensified their yellow color even more (no saturation adjustment used here)!

I isolated these blossoms with my 400mm lens. I like how shooting with this long lens flattens perspectives, and provides very shallow DOF when shooting wide open. (The daffodils near our front door started blooming last week, and it reminded me that I had taken these photos of the same patch a few years ago, but had never processed any of the images!)
