Hand Protecting a Young Plant - My Vision

I could have title this post, "How to breath new life into old photos". This was originally a black and white photograph, taken several years ago in the studio, on 4x5 B/W sheet film. I asked my next-door neighbor to be the hand model (cheap ;-).

I recently scanned the negative, and colorized the image in Photoshop. It has become one of my best stock photo sellers!

Portrait of a Young Dancer - My Vision

Some time ago, I offered to do a portrait setting for some friends of their 13-year old daughter, "Mindy". Mindy was studying ballet, so I suggested that we do the session in her dance clothes.

Mindy was a delight to work with. She's a smart young lady, with a bubbly personality. Although the studio offered me beautiful, controlled lighting and a hand-painted background, I'd love to do an environmental-portrait session with her on location, in a dance studio.
