Fruit at Seattle's Pike Place Market - My Vision

(Click on images for a larger view.)

While traveling through Seattle, I stopped at the famous Pike Place Market, and took this series of open-air produce photos (scroll down to see all seven).

This "farmer's" market has been around since 1907, and has become a popular tourist destination. Pikes Place original started as a fresh fish market, and has become a delightful place to visit or shop. Many of the shops are in the open air, and it is fun to mingle with the merchants, farmers, and buyers. The produce, cut flowers, and fresh fish are top quality. All the colorful and fresh food make great subjects for photography!

Peaceful Conclusion to a Summer Storm - My Vision

(Click on image for a larger view.)

This is my final and favorite image in this series about a fast-moving summer thunderstorm that rolled over the Grand Tetons two weeks.

I love the angry and brooding look of the clouds, yet there is a peace and calmness that is starting to settle in as the blue skies push away the blazing clouds.

There are four images in this series (scroll down to see the time line) that took a little over 35 minutes to come and go.

Thunderstorms Offer Dramatic Light - My Vision

(Click on image for a larger view.)

This "angry" thunderstorm was fun to watch as it rolled over Grand Tetons in late June. The sun was just setting (note the shaft of light shooting across Mount Moran).

I love the dramatic light changes that happen during a summer thunderstorm! If you watch and record what happens about every five or ten minutes, you'll be surprised at the changes, when you review your images. It's interesting how the color of the mountains changes, depending on the light reflecting down from the clouds.

Compare it to this photo that I took a little over 20 minutes later (posted last week):
